Tournament Host - Phil Hellmuth
Phil once again joins the TASER Foundation in hosting the fifth
annual Hold'em for Heroes charity poker tournament. He will be hosting the High Roller Tournament
on Saturday, November 21. High Rollers will get the chance to play against Phil
at 8:00 PM.
Madison, Wisconsin-born Phil Hellmuth, Jr., stands on a stack of poker-and-life
achievements that make him the envy of poker players and non-players alike.
Phil's stated career goal is to become the best poker player of all time. With 11
World Series of Poker victories and more than fifty tournament titles later, Hellmuth
is well on his way to cementing his poker legacy, one that began shortly after his
graduation from the University of Wisconsin. In fact, his laundry list of achievements
in 1989 began at the tender age of 24 with his first World Series of Poker title,
the youngest person to ever accomplish such a feat. He has since amassed dozens
of major tournament wins internationally, including wins at The World's Biggest
Seven-card Stud Tournament in Austria and Late Night Poker in Great Britain.
This year, Phil took a larger role in serving the TASER Foundation for
Fallen Officers, when he agreed to serve on the advisory committee responsible for
planning and executing all poker related events. He and his UltimateBet Team
have been instrumental in raising the bar for this event and have introduced the
organization to an amazing team of poker professionals committed to serving the
families.
In a recent press release put out by UltimateBet (www.ultimatebet.com)
Phil was quoted as saying, "over the last several years, and especially since 9/11,
my respect for policemen, firemen and the people who protect us has risen higher
and higher. Our Hold'em for Heroes charity poker tournament gives money to
the Fallen Officers Foundation, which supports officers and the families of officers
who were killed in the line of duty. Myy friends and I are grateful to these
brave men and women and we are proud to help."

TASER Foundation Host - Mark Wills
Serving since March 2006 as a member of the TASER Foundation board of
directors, country recording artist Mark Wills has weaved his talent as a musician
with his support for law enforcement.
Since the age of 15, when Wills entered the world of honky tonk singing in talent
shows at a Georgia bar called Lonesome Dove, all he ever wanted to do was to sing
for people and make records. In 1996, Wills signed to Mercury Records in Nashville
and became an instant success. In 1999, Wills won the ACMs Top New Male Vocalist
honor. Reaching into his heart and maintaining a commitment to music that connects
the studio to the stage became a way of life for Wills. With a track record that
any artist would envy, Wills has a solid history of hits, including Jacobs Ladder,
Wish You Were Here and Dont Laugh At Me. In 2003, Wills scored
with 19 Something, a seven-week #1 record that was named Billboards most played
country single of the year.
Wills ability to reach across moments is also indicative of his ability to reach
across genres. I Do (Cherish You) was picked up by pop sensations
98 Degrees and his hit song Back At One hit the charts at the same time as pop star
Brian McKnights version, creating simultaneous hits in both pop and country music
genres.
In 2006, Wills signed with Equity Music Group and his first release with the label,
Hank, quickly gained attention from the critics. Wills current
single, Take It All Out On Me, from his latest albut "Familar Stranger", is currently
climbing the country singles chart. On this album, Mark showcases all sides of his
versatilty and range - from beautiful soulful ballads, like "The Likes of You" to
the crank-it-up high energy evident on "Rednecks Anonymous". Mark comments,
"my goal was for this new albut to sound like a bunch of great musicians playing
live. To be completely honest, I don't think a lot of country artists capture
that. But with the help of Brett James, studio-master and songwriter, I think
we succeeded. I worked on this record for two years and I am really proud
of it. I wanted it to sound like everything from Harry Connick Jr. to Aerosmith,
and I think there's something for all the fans - from the rockin' stuff to the ballads."
In addition to being a talented performer, Wills is a sworn reserve deputy sheriff
in Cherokee County, Ga. and a proud supporter of law enforcement and the military.
Through the TASER Foundation, Wills has been able to bring his
passion for music to the law enforcement community, and has performed several concerts
in support of police and their families.
